Soewito Suhardiman Eddymurthy Kardono recently joined with the Royal Society of St. George – Jakarta (RSSG) for a charity evening that raised thousands of dollars to support abandoned children in Jakarta. SSEK was a sponsor for RSSG’s Trafalgar Night event held November 16 in Kemang, South Jakarta.
More than 55 million Rupiah (US$5,000) was raised during the event for RSSG’s chosen charity, SOS Children’s Villages. This UK-based charity supports more than 60,000 children around the world and has been helping children in Indonesia since 1970.
Jonathan M. Streifer, a foreign advisor at SSEK who attended Trafalgar Night, said it was a great event and an even better cause. “We welcome the opportunity to give something back to our community, and there are few better causes than SOS Children’s Villages.”
